KINDNESS CLUB

WORDS AND ACTIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The Kindness Club was formed for Jemtegaard Middle School’s Club 8 afterschool activities. The focus is about sharing kindness with others by creating small gift boxes filled with creative trinkets and uplifting notes. We use our creativity to bring a smile to others in our community that might be struggling or could use a happy surprise. Our club has made Kindness Boxes for Jemtegaard students, Clark County’s Teen Talk program, and the Salvation Army of Washougal to add to their food bags. It is important that kids realize how much power their words and actions have on others. They have the ability to change someone’s day and outlook, simply by being kind! If you would like to contribute supplies or financially to the Kindness Club, please email me at:

We have so many fun supplies to use for our projects! Thanks to all who have donated their craft supplies and money to our club!

Meet Kalle

Kalle

Hi all! I’m so glad you are here! I am the mom of two fabulous daughters, Emerson & Elliot and the wife of an airline pilot, Tony.

I earned my degree in Fine Art/Architecture at Portland State University and then worked for over 12 years at an architectural firm as a Drafter/Designer and Proposal Writer. I LOVED it! I worked on schools, jails, fire stations, police stations, homes, and churches.

I was unfortunately diagnosed with Narcolepsy (a sleeping disorder) and had to “retire” from my dream career while making a lot of changes to my everyday life.

As devastated as I was by this diagnosis, I realized that we simply cannot control everything in our lives but we can control how we respond! I have been grateful to spend so much special time with my family and I’m extra grateful to now spend it with YOU!

This disease certainly makes me a bit “quirky” sometimes, but I’m not shy about talking about it! Narcolepsy doesn’t own me or define me, it just adds a little extra seasoning to what makes me who I am. Why be ashamed of something we can’t control?!

No matter who you are, or what you are going through, I’m so glad you’re here! Being a kid is TOUGH! Being an adult is TOUGH! You are figuring out who you are while being pulled by those wanting you to be someone else! It’s these bumpy roads that give us the chance to shine!

Please know, that I’ll take you for exactly who you are right now! Don’t change a thing! You are perfectly imperfect and I am perfectly imperfect too! 😊

The Kindness Club is a place where you can be you and explore your hidden talents, while bringing joy to others! It’s amazing how good it will make you feel when you do something kind for someone else.

Welcome to our club!
